Yesterday Purple posted a comment against one of my blog entries that got me thinking. He’d done a mid year analysis of his affiliate activities, and found that his sales generated (or maybe its commission?) is up by 199% on two major networks and another has seen an increase of over 2000%! Those figures are brilliant to hear as I’m aware he’s been busier this year than ever before, and it’s always good to hear about other peoples success when they make the effort.
Purples effort and reward shows that given a bit of concentration and hard graft, increase can be achieved despite the ‘credit crunch’ no matter what size an affiliate you are
In the comments, Purple asked how my stats were shaping up. After a few simple calculations later, I was happy to find that for 7 out of the 8 major networks, my sales for the first 6 months of 2008 have already surpassed my TOTAL for 2007.
My projected 2008 increase is a simple x2 formula and doesn’t take into account Christmas which should hopefully push the increase higher still!
| 2006 | 2007 | 2008 (till 30 June) | Projected Increase | |
| Affiliate Future | £20,375 | £18,380 | £41,292 | 349.31% |
| Affiliate Window | £25,390 | £1,020,799 | £1,149,178 | 125.15% |
| Buy.At | £114,620 | £316,979 | £196,128 | 23.75% |
| CJ | £16,575 | £174,675 | £395,815 | 353.20% |
| DGM | £1,171 | £26,643 | £84,448 | 533.92% |
| POR | £3,917 | £22,745 | £24,317 | 113.82% |
| TD | £32,929 | £211,931 | £298,830 | 182.01% |
| Webgains | £854 | £22,256 | £48,672 | 337.38% |
| TOTAL | £215,831 | £1,814,408 | £2,238,680 | 146.77% |

Horaayy..there are 11 comment(s) for me so far ;)
Well done Chris, those are some compelling figures. I’m sure loads of people will be very interested in these!
I was quite surprised myself to be honest, but just to make sure everyone is aware, these figures are sales and not commissions… Just imagine if they were
It’s also good to hear the Purple is seeing success and reward for the effort he has put in so far this year. Long may it continue
Nice to know good guys in AM are doing well. Seen some increases/some decreases and some same as… but a lot of my stuff is out and independent nowadays.
Congratulations, good to see what you’re doing is growing so well this year across all the networks. Clearly already beaten last years figures but interesting to see if the next 6 months stay the same, grow or decrease. With the doom and gloom about the economy all around it will be interesting to see if Merchants turn to Affiliate Marketing and payment on results based marketing when their slush funds for other advertising dry up and if our sector will be effected just the same as the others.
Chris thanks for updating your figures, my headline increases especially the 2000% with buy.at was coming from a low base to be fair.
My stats were based on sales which are all from serps no PPC, i only checked two networks but I nearlt hit 1/2 million in sales so pleased with that. The other networks do not make very much at all.
I was getting down after a few slow days so thought I would check my stats so was pleasantly surprised, that a one man show part time affiliate like me can still rack up nearly half a million in sales in 6 months.
I hear ya!
Mine stats were similar to your in 2005, anduring that year I only made sales that fell short of quarter million!
Over the past 2 years I’ve concerntrated on a number of sites and have seen big increase. Remember I too am a one man part-time affiliate too
Therefore no excuse for next year to be pushing it even further!
Just keep pluggin away!
Just think what we could do if we went full time!!
Makes working at 2am in the morning then up at 7am ready to face major corporate clients worthwhile.
I will keep pluggin away got a few zero’s to add to my stats to get close to you. I got a bit excited sales were only 1/4 million but still moving in the right direction again.
Commission has increased even more than sales, with one network up 4000%
Others are way down as i have consolidated
If you guys could stay part-time it’d be appreciated
Seriously though, well done Chris and Purple on those healthy looking stats .
I don’t have such dramatic swings between networks as you guys but there are definitely some significant changes in the running order across the major UK networks.
Well done Chris
Doug
Nice stats there.
I do more leads than sales so don’t have large sale figures. Shame really
Well done mate. Very inspiring figures.
Your servers must have been smoking!!
