Yesterday saw the BUPA Great Manchester Run take place in the blazing sun, and once again I forgot my suncream
Unlike previous runs, this time I didn’t set up any online sponsorship, nor did I beg for money from the Affiliate Marketing. I took part purely for the fun, although at 7km mark I was struggling to find anything fun about it other than a run through shower tent as can clearly be seen in my profile.
As some people know, way back in November I managed to talk Helen Southgate from DGM into doing it with me. Only yesterday did I realise that she was raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and had managed to raise over £200 in a matter of days!
So if any of you ridiculously rich affiliates would like to give a few quid for an extremely exhausting event that has already taken place, then please visit Helens sponsorship page and drop a few quid in the bucket!
Its Not Too Late To Donate!
Although 10k isn’t anywhere near a marathon, it is still hard going especially in the sun, and as it was Helens very first attempt, she did brilliantly to beat 11,000 other runners.
Anyone wanting to take part next year can register their interest here. The day is really good fun (but tiring), the crowds are fantastic, bands playing all different types of music en-route and best of all is the HUGE meal you scoff hours after finishing
If you want to check out times, and splits times then you can do so by visitng the website below and searching on our names - Chris Frost or Helen Southgate. There appears to be two Chris Frost’s… sadly I am the slower one of the two;

Horaayy..there are 3 comment(s) for me so far ;)
That’s not too shabby at all mate, what the hell did you take in the last 2K to give you a spurt like that though? Did someone tell you the bar tab was running out
Haha…
Between 5k and 8k there were 2 water stations and also a run through shower. This on top of a gradual but constant incline, was the reason for a dip in speed. The beer and burger afterwards was LUSH and well worth it.
The next one I’m doing is September… anyone fancy joining me? Shane??
Details here
You could always do a Bailey and have the large meal without the running nonsense beforehand???
