Finally I’m getting back into the swing of things and once again adapting to the normal humdrum of everyday life. A life that doesn’t involve fresh sushi, Yurikamome train or Asahi Beer… a life much duller, and a lot colder than the past 2 weeks.
I’ve just spent an amazing 10 days in Tokyo where the weather hit 35c at 09.05, where the food was gorgeous (even the raw horse or cows heart didn’t taste that bad) and where sublime tranquil garden retreats provided a restbite from the the hustle and bustle of Tokyo itself. I was lucky enough to experience all of this courtesy of Buy.At Affiliate Network following their “HoHoHo Tokyo” affiliate incentive held at the end of 2006.
Sadly time didn’t allow complete exploration of Tokyo, and I never managed to indulge in some experiences I’d hoped to. Having said that, the trip certainly gave me a taste of the Japanese culture, the country and its people, and is one place I look forward to re-visiting and exploring and experiencing again in the future.
Thanks to Buy.At for putting up such an amazing affiliate incentive, thanks to Roz for picking my name out the hat, and Laura for organising all flights and hotels. The whole trip was an amazing experience of for which I am very greatful. The suitably strange sweets and tat are on their way to both the Toon and Cockney offices ![]()

Horaayy..there are 2 comment(s) for me so far ;)
Konnichiwa Chris,
Wow this post brought back happy memories for me! I went to Japan for my honeymoon in March and loved every minute! I travelled around a bit (Kyoto, Okinawa, Hiroshima) but Tokyo was definitely my favourite - It was just as crazy as I expected it to be
I have to admit, if someone has never been before, and is ‘thinking’ about it, then I would strongly advise to stop thinking and get booking! Such a lush country and diverse at the same time.
