Well the winner has been announced for the Buy.at Ho Ho Ho Lets Go Tokyo comeptition that was held during Q4 2006, and to be honest, I can’t believe what I am about to write… I WON! How happy am I? Well, lets just say if I wasn’t in the office when I was told, I would have pulled my TShirt over my head, dropped my trousers and ran round the office screaming ‘Turning Japanese‘! All very professional :)

So has this changed my mind on Affiliate Incentives? Not really, as I’ve always believed that affiliate incentives like this push us lazy part-timers into giving new programs and merchants a try, some that you may otherwise shy away from. The nice thing about Buy.at’s incentive is that it was aimed at everyone and not just those affiliates who are already performing well on the network. Too often I see incentives or competition entries for affiliates who reach 1000 leads etc, Buy.at however worked on the most improved format. This then meant that an affiliate who made 3 leads, stood the same chance of gaining an entry as those that regularly generate 100 leads.

I know some affiliates may think ‘Well hang on, why should I be penalised if I am already providing you with a large amount of leads?’. The way I see it, these affiliates are often, quite rightly so, on higher commission rates and therefore their hardwork and commitment is already being recognised. By offering a best increase in performance incentive helps us little ones stick our heads up from the crowd and show what we could offer a network or merchant in the future.

Anyway… are there any places in Tokyo that are on your MUST NOT MISS list?

Sushi???? OMG, if I could, I would live on the stuff! In Vegas, the 2 most important things to me were to find a good Sushi Bar, and the Grand Canyon.

However, Monkey brains… they were a delecacy in Romania. I have to admit, I would be undecided. Maybe has 1 as a starter? ;)
