Last night Affiliate Window put on a small event, to introduce some of us affiliates to their new Shopwindow product at a London bar called Zakudia. As per normal with these nights a few beers were had, and a very informal night of networking took place between affiliates and Affiliate Window. There were no merchants present, as the night itself was aimed at promoting, advising and assisting affiliates with the Shopwindow application.
Â
I dont use ShopWindow but did download it and had a play around a number of weeks ago and within 10 minutes had a very basic example in place. As I haven’t developed anything myself for a number of years now, my skills have taken a small dip for the worse, so I was struggling when it came to customising the example. Lastnight’s networking event resulted in being introduced to some techies at Affiliate Window who have kindly offered to help me create my first customised ShopWindow website.
Â
Once the first site is finished, I will hopefully slip straight back into the development side of things, and the aim is to create a whole host of different websites. If the coding of the first site uses includes and is documented well, then it really should be childs play, cutting and pasting code snippets into new designs.
Â
It was a strange night in the fact that there were no merchants present, however this was the idea and I have to say, it worked well. I went wanting to learn a little more about ShopWindow and came away with offers of assistance to get me up and running and on my way to developing lots more sites.
Â
Oh, as a side note, some of you will be happy to hear that I DIDN’T win any of the prizes on offer (New York, Bangkok etc), infact even my ‘bag of goodies’ was pinched by a member of Awin!
Â
Thanks for a great night (especially Keltie for organising it all).
