I’m start to get a little excited with Live Earth in Wembley being only 10 days away. Obviously the whole idea is to bring the current climate issues to everyones attention and aims to educate people on how to help the world from burning up on itself. Sadly, I am driving down, not car sharing, and will no doubt increase my footprint in order to attend this event.
I think the lineup has now been finalised and currently includes over 22 bands/artists inlcuding;
- Black Eyed Peas
- Bloc Party
- Corinne Bailey Rae
- John Legend
- Kasabian
- Keane
- Madonna
- Razorlight
- Red Hot Chili Peppers
- Snow Patrol
The whole concert, and highlights from the other 7 venues around the globe will be aired on BBC1, BBC2 and BBCi. Again this will mean a lot of people will power their TV’s on during the day, many may even throw a BBQ for friends, meaning people driving to a friends house, generating lots of rubbish that no doubt will be binned and not recycled. This will therefore increase a lot of other peoples footprints too!
How are the bands going to arrive? Share a coach or fly? What about all the electricty used to put on such a show? Where does this come from?
The whole thing seems a little hypocritical, still it should be fun ![]()
