As many in the Affiliate Industry are already aware, I currently work fulltime, and although I’ve been involved for many years, have successful campaigns and websites ticking along, I have no incling to become fully self-employed and go at it fulltime. Those that have gone fulltime, may think I am a tad crazy, but it’s all down to self-discipline. I fear that my life would change considerably, and that I’d end up working 3pm -> 3am resulting in 0 social life…. trust me, I know what I am like!

My current position is looking a little insecure as a complete global team may well be outsourced in coming weeks, and as such I’ve started to get out there amongst agencies to see what is available. Already I have been offered a position within a finance company, providing consultancy in relation to their online activies. Although it’s a position I am truely interested in, the money offered and location, will result in being worse off, so I’ve sadly had to decline the offer. I’ve also been contacted regarding another possible vacancy within the Affiliate Industry which I will be following up on in the next few days.

To give you an idea of what I am looking for, I guess it maybe best to give some info on my current role.
I am directly responsbile for 20 staff based in 5 regions (EU, LA, NA, AMET and Asia), supporting the knowledge management and colaboration infrastucture (approx 120 servers worldwide). In addition to this, I’ve ‘picked up’ another global team due to long term illness, that support the messaging environment for approx 90,000 employees. Prince2 qualified (Government project management standards) and part ITIL qualified, I also manage contracts in place with third party suppliers such as BT Syntegra.

The main reason for this post, is to establish where networks, agencies and merchants advertise for positions within the affiliate industry. Obviously as my current role has a lot of responsibility, it is reflected with a very good renumeration package, and so I am looking for something similar yet offering just as much challenges going forward. Any ideas on what publications I should be getting (I already receive NMA)?
