a4uexpo – You Snooze, You Lose

attending 150x150 a4uexpo You Snooze, You LoseLately I’ve been receiving little snippets of information about the forthcoming a4uexpo being held in London on 18th & 19th October. A change to norm, will see it move from ExCeL in the docklands to Hilton Metropole in London’s West–End. It’s hard to believe that this will be the 5th annual a4uexpo – a long cry from the days we used to meet in a pub!

Already sponsorship packages are being snapped up by networks, agencies and merchants and a lot of affiliates are booking early, saving a small fortune with the early bird discounts that are available. If you know you’re definitely going to attend, then go register and grab your ticket now while saving £100!

Not sure what it’s all about? Check the video below from London 2010.

Another benefit of booking early is you’re in with a shout of getting an additional 10% off the price of hotel accommodation (subject to availability etc etc). Staying in the same hotel as where the conference is being held has numerous benefits… You can party late, very late, and still manage (just) to attend the first sessions of the morning. If you’re still feeling tender, there’s always the option of a sneaky power nap over lunch too!

HINT #1 – BUSINESS CARDS

Every year I bump into people who, for whatever reason, have to scribble their details on a piece of paper which inevitably gets stuffed in a pocket and more often than not ends up in the washing machine.

With so many opportunities to meet existing and make new contacts, business cards are essential way of giving your details. If, like me, you’ve a wide range of websites working in many different verticals, it’s wise to create a dedicated portfolio website/page and include this on your business card so people can see, at a glance, what you have to offer.

a4uexpo You Snooze, You LosePersonally I love QR Codes and will be including them on my business cards from now on. QR Codes can be scanned quickly by almost any smartphone allowing immediate storage of your details on someone elses phone… No more lost contact details! Create your QR Code online and include it on your business card.

The best supplier of business cards I’ve come across is Moo.com (a merchant on Affiliate Window) where you can create your business cards easily and quickly using your own design or one of the many templates available. Moo.com allow you to tailor your business cards and even have a mixture of designs. Maybe you could have 5 cards for each website you own? For a limited time you can also get 10% off* by using my exclusive discount code FROSTIE.

Moo.com voucher conditions are: 10% off Business Cards. Eligible for 1 pack of 50 or 200 Business Cards. This code is valid for Classic, Green and Rounded Business Cards. This code is only valid for first time users. Offer excludes shipping. The code expires on the 30th of September 2011. The Moo.com affiliate programme is available with Affiliate Window.
